July 1, 2007. It was an absolutely lovely summer morning in Livermore today. A gorgeous day to fly. There was still cloud cover over most of the bay, but driving over the hills eastbound into the Livermore Valley brought sunshine. There was still cloud cover wrapping Mount Diablo that I was hoping would linger until I was airborne, but it had receded quite a bit. Maybe next time.
In this video, you will see quite a few shots of Mount Diablo (looking to the west). The greater San Francisco Bay Area is just beyond the mountain, all enshrouded in cloud. Just one reason why I prefer to fly from Livermore, at least until I am instrument rated. Other sights are Byron Airport, Discovery Bay, Brentwood and the numerous windmills in the vicinity.
